NEW YORK (AP) Police in New York are investigating whether the man accused of trying to blow up a New York City subway train with a homemade explosive device in July was part of a broader conspiracy.
The bomb, described by law enforcement as an improvised explosive device, was set off at a New Jersey subway station after someone spotted a suspicious package on the platform and called 911.
The man is charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction and possession of an explosive device.
Authorities say he was apprehended Monday in Manhattan, where he had traveled with a friend to a bar and party.
They did not provide further details about the man.
The investigation is ongoing.
